In
"Stop Thief : Electronic Cops And Robbers", you and your opponents are
licensed private eyes assigned to track and arrest a notorious thief. The
thief, however, is computer controlled and you have to listen for him to
get clues from the Electronic Crime Scanner. You will hear him in the act
of committing a crime ... opening a door ... crossing a floor ... breaking
a window ... and more. The Electronic Crime Scanner will flash additional
info in the digital readout. You will need all of your deduction skills
to catch him ... and win. Requires 9-volt battery. Still a favorite today.
The original 1979 version of this had a box (see photo) with a flip-up
lid so that customers could see the Electronic Crime Scanner. Later editions
had a regular box lid.
