At
the beginning of 1863, the Confederate and Union armies were closely balanced
--- the North had more troops while the South had better ones and more
mobility. Final victory would be determined by the same factors for both
sides ... sufficient fighting strength in the right place at the right
time, daring and clever tactics ... and luck. While not considered a simulation,
"Civil War 1863" has the makings of a good, even fight for both sides,
and serves as an introductory strategy game for would-be wargamers.

pieces, 3 blue Gunboats, 8 blue Stands, 4 Union Flags, 10 gray Infantry
