| Welcome
to my Game DataBase (Project) |
.
| .Important changes
are coming soon! |
.
| Astute and keen-eyed observers have
probably noticed some subtle changes to the pages and page lay-outs. This
is in preparation for the next expansion which will be occurring over the
next six months or so. The number of pages of information, games
listed, rules, and other info will at least double over the coming months!
More importantly, in order to
make room for future expansions, some web address (or landing pages) will
be changed. For example, Avalon Hill will be moved to its own section called
db_Avalon_Hill, while their Victory Games division (now incorporated into
Avalon Hill in general) will receive its own section within Avalon Hill
called db_Victory_Games ; Milton Bradley, Parker Brothers and several others
will also be moved to new sections.
Why is this important? If you
have any pages saved as favorites in your Browser, this means some of those
pages will bring you to a "dead page". Many, if not most, of the new web
addresses will have re-directs, but some will not ... this is based on
their "popularity" determined by hits and actual visits. For example, if
a page has only received one visit or hit in the last year, it may not
have a re-direct. However, most pages have received substantial visits,
so most will have re-directs.
Searches, therefore, especially
using internet search engines (like Google, Yahoo, etc), may be misleading
for a while. Many internet search engines take from one to thirty days
to update their search indexes (Google, for example, can take up to six
months ... yes, they are that bad!). |
.
| .The
DataBase Expansion ... |
.
| ... is mostly done for the info for
Avalon Hill, with the ASL items and mostly Sports games to be added yet.
In the future I will also add the General magazine, history and other info
at a more leisurely pace. This expansion (so far) has added over 135 Avalon
Hill board / card games and nearly 70 computer games (many with direct
connections to the board games) ... that triples the number of Avalon
Hill games ... from about 100 to over 300! The first place to probably
visit would be the ABC
List to determine if a game is listed yet.
Next in line ... finish up the Avalon
Hill list, then I have about 200 games to add to the Milton Bradley list,
another, roughly, 250 games to the Parker Brothers list, the 3M list and
the Out Of The Box list. Stay tuned.

How can
I make contributions?..Someone
can always contact me here ... ...
to make any contributions, corrections or suggestions. |
.
| .Copyrights,
Copying & Hot-Linking ... |
.
I give permission to COPY &
PASTE any pics/photos and information for use as long as the pics/photos
and information does not have someone else's Copyright assigned to it.
In return, I only ask that you give credit (somewhere) as to the origin
of the pics/photos or information. This does not, however,
apply to whole pages, where I retain the Copyright for look, feel and entire
page content.
So, if you feel you need that pic/photo for an Auction you are running,
say, on eBay, feel free to COPY & PASTE into your own WebSite or other
Site ... and just a little blurb as to where you got it.
.
HOWEVER,
in regard to Hot-Linking, NO such permission is given.
Hot-Linking is the act of using one WebSite's URL to display the pic/photo
or information on another WebSite's URL, and the person involved does not
own either WebSite. Hot-Linking is the equivalent of one of your neighbors
running an electrical line from their property to yours, plugging that
line into an electrical outlet, then using your electricity without paying
for it. This is called, in most cases, Theft Of Services, and is clearly
an illegal and criminal act. Please note, this is very easy to track
down and there will be no hesitation on my part to file whatever charges
I need to file. Remember, this may not be a Civil matter, but a Criminal
one! It is quite different from Copyright violations. The rule is really
very simple ... COPY & PASTE to your own WebSite, do not Hot-Link. |
