 The
year is 1983 and sub-orbital flight has become an everyday occurrence.
A space ship has taken off for a flight to London, but caught in a time
warp, crashes on a mysterious planet. The planet is exactly like Earth
with one major difference ... the People, the Buildings, the Animals, everything
is 12 times larger than on Earth. In "Land Of The Giants", the players
are all members of the crew of the crashed space ship. You try to gather
material to repair the ship and return to Earth. The Giants on this planet,
of course, have other ideas and are constantly trying to capture you ..
. the "little people". Be the first to return to the space ship with the
four equipment pieces to win. Based on popular TV Show of the time.
Game
components include : Gameboard, Giant playing pieces w/ bases, Stranded
Traveler playing pieces w/ bases, Start Weapons (Revolver, Flare Gun, Ax
& Knife), Land Weapons (Giant Safety Pins, Giant Match w/ Razor Blade
& Giant Pin), Equipment pieces (Fuel, Material, Electronics & Provisions),
Die & instructions.

Additional
info: The "Land Of The Giants" TV Show ran from 1968 to 1970 on ABC
(ironic that Ideal was sold to CBS). The basis for the game is the same
as in the TV Show. Some of the actors from the TV Show included Gary Conway
as the Captain, Don Marshall as the Co-Pilot, Don Matheson as a passenger
and Heather Young as the Stewardess.
