"Live
And Let Die" briefing: Two top M.I.6 operatives, working with the C.I.A.
to uncover drug smugglers in New Orleans and on the Caribbean island of
San Monique, have met sudden and mysterious deaths. Now a third agent,
who had been observing Dr. Kananga, the Premier of San Monique, has been
found dead in his New York hotel room. All three deaths have occurred within
the last 24 hours. Is someone simply out to destroy the British Secret
Service, or is there some more ominous link that unites the three agents
in death?
Your
mission: Unraveling the threads of these murders takes you to New York,
New Orleans and San Monique. At these locations you will find clues to
a master plot that threatens to undermine the very fabric of American society.
As you penetrate into the mystery behind the deaths of your fellow agents,
you will find yourself confronting the dark powers of voodoo, encountering
the lovely and mystical oracle Solitaire, and defying the cutthroats who
work for the American gangster known as Mr. Big. Your life is in the balance,
for the next card to be played is Death!

Additional
info:
The
007, James Bond items from Victory Games were divided into three areas:
Action
Episodes: There are four of these that I can find --- "Goldfinger",
"Live & Let Die",
"Man With The Golden Gun" and "You
Only Live Twice". These involved gameboards or mapboards, Counters,
Cards and interaction by a player involving some episode, usually from
the movie.
Adventure
Modules: These are --- The "007
Basic Set", "A View
To A Kill", "Dr. No",
"For Your Eyes Only",
"Goldfinger", "Goldfinger
II - Man With The Midas Touch", "Live And Let Die", "Man
With The Golden Gun", "Octopussy",
"You Only Live
Twice" and "You
Only Live Twice II - Back Of Beyond". These were more traditional role-playing
games, with characters built up, dice rolling and imagination used.
Supplements:
These are --- "For
Your Information", "Gamesmaster
Pack", "Q Manual", "Thrilling
Locations" and "Villains".
These were added enhancements for the Adventure Modules.
The
only oddities in the above were the "Bond
Assault Game", which had a mix of Episode & Adventure game and
could be played either way, and "On
Her Majesty's Secret Service", which used Action & NPC cards.
An
important note regarding Avalon Hill games
- It was not unusual for Avalon Hill to re-publish most of their games
with 2nd, 3rd or more Editions. Sometimes the game components changed,
sometimes they didn't. If your game components do not correspond exactly
with what is listed, do not despair. You may just have to do a little more
checking to insure its completeness.
