"Goldfinger
II" briefing: Three famous physicists have disappeared. Now, an M.I.6 agent
assigned to protect another world-renowned nuclear physicist has been discovered
dead of skin suffocation - his body covered with gold paint. Only one man
is known to use this bizarre method - Auric Goldfinger. Has Goldfinger
returned, or is someone mimicking his lethal methods? Whatever links the
missing scientists with the agent's death must be discovered quickly, or
the results may prove catastrophic to the world.
Your
mission: Your double mission is to solve the murder of the M.I.6 agent
and to protect the imperiled scientist. The assignment will not be easy,
for the enemy is weaving a trap for you. He will lure you on with an intrigue
combining ancient myth and modern technology. He wants to snare you in
his golden web, for Goldfinger's burning hatred of you and M.I.6 must be
satisfied. Are you brave enough to follow the golden threads of danger?
Can

Additional
info:
The
007, James Bond items from Victory Games were divided into three areas:
Action
Episodes: There are four of these that I can find --- "Goldfinger",
"Live & Let Die",
"Man With The Golden Gun" and "You
Only Live Twice". These involved gameboards or mapboards, Counters,
Cards and interaction by a player involving some episode, usually from
the movie.
Adventure
Modules: These are --- The "007
Basic Set", "A View
To A Kill", "Dr. No",
"For Your Eyes Only",
"Goldfinger", "Goldfinger
II - Man With The Midas Touch", "Live
And Let Die", "Man
With The Golden Gun", "Octopussy",
"You Only Live
Twice" and "You
Only Live Twice II - Back Of Beyond". These were more traditional role-playing
games, with characters built up, dice rolling and imagination used.
Supplements:
These are --- "For
Your Information", "Gamesmaster
Pack", "Q Manual", "Thrilling
Locations" and "Villains".
These were added enhancements for the Adventure Modules.
The
only oddities in the above were the "Bond
Assault Game", which had a mix of Episode & Adventure game and
could be played either way, and "On
Her Majesty's Secret Service", which used Action & NPC cards.
An
important note regarding Avalon Hill games
- It was not unusual for Avalon Hill to re-publish most of their games
with 2nd, 3rd or more Editions. Sometimes the game components changed,
sometimes they didn't. If your game components do not correspond exactly
with what is listed, do not despair. You may just have to do a little more
checking to insure its completeness.
