If
you liked the board game, try the
computer version of "Diplomacy". There were at least two versions of the
game in computer form: an older version done by Hasbro / Microprose (see
photo to left) and a newer version by Paradox Interactive (see below).
In either case, the gameplay is still basic --- dominate the world through
negotiation, not war.
Generally,
both versions offered a choice of variations and customization. Full multi-player
support for up to seven human or computer controlled players was available
or play-by-e-mail (PBEM). The AI is designed to ensure no single-player
game is ever the same and the computer controlled countries can be varied.
Both versions were for the IBM / Compatibles.
Known
minimum requirement: Pentium 3 / up or compatible, Windows 98SE, 2000,
Me or XP 256MB Ram, T&L capable video card, 1024x768 display card compatible
with DirectX. (This is for the newer version)
One
to seven players. Avalon Hill.
Note:
Any computer, type of media, and/or minimum requirements listed are limited
to those in Avalon Hill catalogs I have available. It is possible there
may be more available than listed.
