In
"Intern", you have just completed four years of Medical School. You enter
the sanctum of a large teaching hospital --- who's in charge? YOU ARE!
Take up a specialty ... Medicine, Gynecology, Surgery or Neurology ...
then start with 6 hours of Time Scrip (one good night's rest) and four
patients. Make life and death decisions as you diagnose the critically
ill in the Emergency Room, decide which medical specialties are best for
your patients, what treatment they will receive and more. But like real
life, complications may abound ... transfers may overload you, you may
get a Wild Turkey patient, consultations rendered, pages may call you away
in the middle of your duties and more. Clear your ward of your patients
first to win. Typical playing time about one to one and a half hours.
Game
components include : Gameboard, 40 Page cards, 16 Patient cards, 32 Diagnosis
cards, 40 Treatment Cards, Holding tray, 4 Playing pieces, 96 pieces Time
Script, 2 Dice & 16-page Manual.
Two
to four players. Ages 12 & up. Avalon Hill from 1979. Designed by husband
& wife team of Drs. Cliff and Lou Andrew based on their own experiences
on the house staffs of Duke University and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
An
important note regarding Avalon Hill games
- It was not unusual for Avalon Hill to re-publish most of their games
with 2nd, 3rd or more Editions. Sometimes the game components changed,
sometimes they didn't. If your game components do not correspond exactly
with what is listed, do not despair. You may just have to do a little more
checking to insure its completeness.
