"Foreign
Exchange" is a complex game of the intricacies of the international money
market. Players own and manage multi-national companies in various cities
around the world. Gains and losses for the companies are realized when
changing currency rates after the value of their income and assets in foreign
countries. If you have ever wondered why, for example, the U.S. Dollar
is not as worth as much as one may think, despite being the strongest economic
engine in the world, than this game may be for you. Three levels of play
are included : A Basic game for relative beginners, an Intermediate game
for those who have caught onto the gist of dealings, and an Expert game.
Game components include :
Mapboard, Net worth worksheet pad, Foreign Exchange worksheet pad, Hedging
Cost worksheet pad, 160 Counters, 4 Playing pieces, 28 City cards, 32 Risk
cards, 2 Dice & instructions.
Two to four players. Ages
12 & up. Avalon Hill.
Additional info: In
the early Avalon Hill computer days, "Foreign
Exchange" was translated into a computer game.
An
important note regarding Avalon Hill games
- It was not unusual for Avalon Hill to re-publish most of their games
with 2nd, 3rd or more Editions. Sometimes the game components changed,
sometimes they didn't. If your game components do not correspond exactly
with what is listed, do not despair. You may just have to do a little more
checking to insure its completeness.
