"Empires
In Arms" covers the major elements of diplomacy and warfare during the
Napoleonic Wars of 1805-1815. Each player becomes an absolute Monarch of
a major European power during the time period and must guide their nation
through the maze of conflicting interests and ambitions. Negotiate alliances,
dictate peace treaties, administer requests and conduct warfare. Land combat
takes into account the effects of leadership, grand tactics, morale and
types of troops present. Economics plays a factor in the game, too. Scenarios
range from a 4-turn, two player 1805 scenario to a 132-turn, seven player
Grand Campaign game. High complexity.
Game
components include : 2 Mapsheets, 1008 Counters (no blanks), 2 Victory
/ Combat charts, 8 National Card charts, Status card, 2 Dice & 48-page
Rules booklet.
Two
to seven players. Ages 12 & up. Avalon Hill from 1986.

An
important note regarding Avalon Hill games
- It was not unusual for Avalon Hill to re-publish most of their games
with 2nd, 3rd or more Editions. Sometimes the game components changed,
sometimes they didn't. If your game components do not correspond exactly
with what is listed, do not despair. You may just have to do a little more
checking to insure its completeness.
