A
companion game to "Advanced
Third Reich" (which was the newest revision for the classic "Third
Reich") "Empire Of The Rising Sun" takes the fight to the Pacific and
can be linked with that game for a Global War scenario for the entire Second
World War. The game simulates the economic, political and technical aspects
of WW2 in the Pacific. The game does not require "Advanced
Third Reich" (both games are stand-alone games) and is not considered
a variant. Special features include: development of the atomic bomb, ten
variants for each side, twenty variants for "Advanced
Third Reich" and sophisticated carrier combat rules. So what if ...
the American carriers had been at Pearl Harbor? ... Japan had won the battle
of Midway? ... Hitler had developed the atomic bomb first? Want to find
out? High complexity.
Game
components include : 2 Mapsheets, 1,300 Counters, 8 Player Aid cards, 8
Scenario cards, 2 Dice, Research Rules for "Advanced Third Reich", 12-page
Global War booklet, 40-page Appendix & 72-page Rule book.
Two to six players. Ages
12 & up. Avalon Hill from 1995.
Additional
info: There was an article on this game in "The General" magazine Vol.
31 # 1
An
important note regarding Avalon Hill games
- It was not unusual for Avalon Hill to re-publish most of their games
with 2nd, 3rd or more Editions. Sometimes the game components changed,
sometimes they didn't. If your game components do not correspond exactly
with what is listed, do not despair. You may just have to do a little more
checking to insure its completeness.
