"Down
With The King" is a game of intrigue and treachery in the kingdom of Fandonia,
where players compete against the King and each other. Build a powerful,
political faction and place a member of the Royal Family, loyal only to
you, on the throne. The game allows for loads of interaction and reaction
during any player's turn, so this is not a game where everyone can sit
back while one player takes their turn. Die? If you do, just come back
the next turn as their heir. Assassinations, duels and scandals? Those
and more. Typical playing time can range from three hours and up. Medium
complexity.
Game
components include : 260 Counters (no blanks), 11 Royal Character cards,
36 Nobles cards, 13 Office cards, 120 Events cards, 10 Playing Aid cards,
2 Dice & 32-page Rules booklet.
Two
to six players. Ages 12 & up. Avalon Hill from 1981.

An
important note regarding Avalon Hill games
- It was not unusual for Avalon Hill to re-publish most of their games
with 2nd, 3rd or more Editions. Sometimes the game components changed,
sometimes they didn't. If your game components do not correspond exactly
with what is listed, do not despair. You may just have to do a little more
checking to insure its completeness.
