The
same diceless mechanics and wooden blocks which made the original "Diplomacy"
game of negotiating a classic, is only changed by the cast of characters
and its place on the world stage. In "Colonial Diplomacy", the Dutch East
Indies, Manchu China, and Imperial Japan add their input to the turbulent
60 years spanning the gulf from the Opium Wars to the Russo-Japanese War
of 1908. Each player must guide the destiny of one of the vast empires
involved in the struggle for nationalism, and colonial acquisitions during
this era --- the British Empire, the Ottoman Turkish Empire, French Indo-China,
the Dutch East Indies, the Russian Empire, Manchu China and Imperial Japan.
Armies and Navies must be mobilized and deployed in this challenging contest
of strategies in order to gain areas of economic, strategic, and military
importance.

An
important note regarding Avalon Hill games
- It was not unusual for Avalon Hill to re-publish most of their games
with 2nd, 3rd or more Editions. Sometimes the game components changed,
sometimes they didn't. If your game components do not correspond exactly
with what is listed, do not despair. You may just have to do a little more
checking to insure its completeness.
