An
authentic railroad dispatching game based on the actual C&O / B&O
railroad. The players operate pieces representing 97 passenger and freight
trains that ran daily in reality. The mapboard reproduces actual rail lines
serving Chicago, Louisville, St. Louis, Detroit, Cincinnati, Richmond,
Pittsburgh, Washington and points in between. Plan schedules and compete
against each other (and the elements --- like floods, derailments, etc.)
to get your trains in on time and freight to its destination ahead of the
competition. Game-turns are one hour. Bookshelf / bookcase game (slip-box
type).
Game components include (?)
: Mapboard (w/ holding clips), 97 Train Counters, Time Table, Departure
cards, 24 Situation cards, Freight load counters, Dispatcher's Manual &
instructions.
Solitaire or two players
/ teams. Ages 10 & up. Avalon Hill from 1969.
An
important note regarding Avalon Hill games
- It was not unusual for Avalon Hill to re-publish most of their games
with 2nd, 3rd or more Editions. Sometimes the game components changed,
sometimes they didn't. If your game components do not correspond exactly
with what is listed, do not despair. You may just have to do a little more
checking to insure its completeness.
