Blitzkrieg - Game of Lightning Warfare by Avalon HillOne of Avalon Hill's best-sellers, "Blitzkrieg" lets you simulate the effects of lightning warfare between two major, mythical powers ... the Great Blue and the Big Red. Units represent armor, infantry, rangers, artillery, airborne, tactical bombers, strategic bombers and more. Advanced rules include naval warfare with land and air systems. Tournament rules add in industry, production, resources, and other advanced weaponry. The updated version changed little, mostly in the rules. Medium to high complexity. Plan on spending a minimum of three hours at the lowest levels. There was also a PBM (Play-By-Mail) Kit available for "Blitzkrieg".

The General magazine Vol 2 # 3Game components include (1975 Edition) : Mapboards, 390 Counters (includes 14 blanks), Attrition Table, Time Record sheet, 2 Order of Appearance cards (red & blue), 2 Dice & 20-page Rules booklet.

An important note regarding Avalon Hill games - It was not unusual for Avalon Hill to re-publish most of their games with 2nd, 3rd or more Editions. Sometimes the game components changed, sometimes they didn't. If your game components do not correspond exactly with what is listed, do not despair. You may just have to do a little more checking to insure its completeness.
