Third Reich by Avalon HillExpanding on their award-winning "The Rise And Decline Of The Third Reich" (better known as "Third Reich", first published in 1974), this is a Grand Strategic game depicting the Second World War. The game simulates the military, economic, political, diplomatic and technical aspects. Units include armor, infantry, airborne, partisan, air, naval, V-weapon and commandos. The fighting can take you from the fjords of Norway to the sands of Egypt, and from Britain's Atlantic approaches to the Urals. This is a stand-alone game and does not require ownership of the original "Third Reich".

Empire Of The Rising Sun companion gameA companion game to "Advanced Third Reich" is "Empire Of The Rising Sun", which takes the fight to the Pacific. The two games can be combined to fight the entire Second World War or can be played separately, since each game is a stand-alone game. Those interested in "Advanced Third Reich" should also have "Empire Of The Rising Sun" since the latter game also has updates for the former game.

Game components include : 2 Mapsheets, Counters, 6 Player Aid charts, 6 Scenario cards, 2 Dice, 36-page Appendix & 64-page Rule book.

The General magazine Vol 28 # 6Two to six players (?). Ages 12 & up. Avalon Hill from 1992. Design: Bruce Harper.

Additional info: There were articles on this game in "The General" magazine:
Vol. 27 # 3
Vol. 28 # 6 Rule modifications, expanded U-Boat operations & PBM options
Vol. 30 # 3
Vol. 31 # 1 Variant

An important note regarding Avalon Hill games - It was not unusual for Avalon Hill to re-publish most of their games with 2nd, 3rd or more Editions. Sometimes the game components changed, sometimes they didn't. If your game components do not correspond exactly with what is listed, do not despair. You may just have to do a little more checking to insure its completeness.
