In
"Win, Place & Show", before each race there is an auction. With your
initial stake of $50,000, you bid against the other players, hoping to
land the horse of your choice. But your role does not stop there ... now
you are the jockey and must learn when to hug the rail or move outside,
when to hold back and when to sprint. But even before that, you must decide
whom to place bets on ... even if it is not your horse because winning
money is what you need to do to win the game. Special "Party", "Fund-Raising",
apprentice and veteran rules. Features include Daily Double, secret betting
and 36 Racehorses to choose from which are individually rated. Typical
playing time per race is about 20 minutes. Originally published by 3M,
Avalon Hill published it in bookshelf / bookcase form with some minor changes.
