With
"Set Point", all the play of tennis is in a boardgame! Quite an involved
game, with a good dose of realism. The basic shots are divided into Volley,
Offensive Lob, Defensive Lob and Power Shot. The board (tennis court) is
divided into a large number of boxes and the player "aims" at a box. In
some cases the "aim" is checked by a roll of the dice. Players are allowed
"movement" to intercept shots but are limited in some respects. Although
it sounds complicated, in actual play it does not work out too bad. Singles
and Doubles play is available.
Game
components include : Tennis Gameboard, 2 Rules cards, 2 "Ball" tokens,
4 Player tokens (2 ea. of 2 colors), 4 Dice, 4 Dice Cups & instructions.
Two
or four players. Ages 12 & up. XV Productions / Itemation from 1971.
