Additional
info: Carolina Biological Supply Company began in 1927 when Thomas
E. Powell, Jr., an Elon College professor who collected natural specimens
for his class, discovered that he could sell surplus items to other teachers
and professors. Dr. Powell soon realized that a team approach, with his
company providing the centralized collection and distribution of educational
materials, would free teachers to make better use of their time in the
classroom and laboratory. Eventually, the company also made games for classroom
learning, beginning in the 1970s.
Other
Carolina Biological Supply Company games include : "Cell
Game", "Energy Quest", "Extinction",
and "Pollution".
