The
"Garden Game" comes in a unique carrying-case box (complete with hinges
and latches) which opens up to reveal the playing board ... complete with
four Gardens for the players to grow products. The object of the game is
for each player to plant Seed Packets in his / her garden until the garden
is full ... and to do this with plants that do best together. The game
ends when the first player completes a garden with either 16, 20 or 24
plants ... depending on how many you agree on before you begin. However,
one would have to contend with many things one finds in a typical garden
--- bad weather, Aphids, even accidents and more. The game also includes
some alternate rules.
The
game was later re-released, albeit in a slightly different form but with
two additional players, by Ampersand Press.
Game
components include : Playing Board (part of game box), 4 metal Playing
pieces, 4 red wooden Megaphones, 2 green wooden Dice, 64 small Cards (8
Weather Report, 24 Act Of God and 32 Compost), 68 large Cards (64 Seed
Packets, 3 Blank Spares and 1 "Side Door Into Gardens") & instructions.
Two
to four players. Ages 10 & up. Garden Game Ltd. / Sarah Ponsonby from
1984 --- Shown is 2nd Edition from 1985.
