"Charge
To Glory : The Battle Of New Market" covers the battle in the Shenandoah
Valley outside the town of New Market, Virginia in 1864. Although not large,
well-known, or paramount in the overall scheme of Civil War battles, it
was important in many respects --- most notably in the VMI Cadets baptism
under fire and their "Charge To Glory". Hexes are about forty yards, units
are variable (generally companies but can be formed into regiments), and
game-turns are about six minutes. The game includes three basic scenarios
: (1) A 12-turn historical scenario ; (2) A 16-turn scenario with non-historic
options ; and (3) A special 5-turn scenario on the "Charge of the VMI Cadets"
; plus an Introductory Scenario for those new to wargaming.
Game
components include : Mapsheet, 300 Counters (includes 1 blank), Player
Aid sheet, 2 Roster sheets, Introductory game sheet & Rules.
Two
players. Ages 12 & up. David Martin & Leonard Millman from 1983.
