Despite
the name, this is a dice game ... no "Mississippi Marbles" (or any other
marbles) involved. The term "marbles", as explained in a humorous fashion
on the back of the box, was a better name given to it then dice, because
the word dice just did not catch on. Anyway, points are awarded for certain
rolls of the dice, with some borrowing from the game of Poker (straights,
3 of a kind, etc.). Terms like Makin' Mud, Ridin' the Rapids, Big Muddy
Straight, and others will give a sense of old-time Riverboat Gamblin'.
Game
components include : 6 black Dice w/ draw-stringed pouch, plastic Dice
Shaker, Dice Rolling Tray, Scorepad & instructions.
Two
or more players. Ages 12 & up. Dawson Alliants Corporation / Terry
Estvold from 1988.
