Hey,
mate! Lookie what we got 'ere. It is a rare game to find in the States,
with an all-wood Gameboard, real Marbles and moving parts. Here is how
"Down Under" is played --- Once you put the gameboard together, each player
puts 2 Marbles into the holes on the Tower in alternating style until all
40 Marbles are played. Then the Grid section is moved under the Tower and
the Marbles drop into the holes in the Grid. The object is to get as many
of your Marbles into four-in-a-row lines in the Grid as you can. Most four-in-a-rows
(up, down or diagonally) wins that round. So, it's a matter of planning
your own moves and messing up your opponents'! All-wood construction makes
for a long-lasting game. I believe this was made in two sizes.
Game
components include : wood Gameboard (w/ Tower which needs to be screwed
on & 4 screws), wood Grid, 40 hard Marbles (20 ea. of 2 colors), assembly
instructions & playing instructions.
Two
players. Ages 8 & up. IQ America from 1986.
