A
strategic-level sim of the Russo-German War played out between June 1942
through Dec 1943. At the start of this time period, the German Army was
still feeling the effects of its first reversal suffered from the winter
of 1941-1942 at the hands of the Soviets. Although the new offensive could
only be launched at about 80% of strength, morale was still high. But the
Soviets had deep reserves that the Germans never imagined. Each side must
play to their strengths to succeed. The game incorporates an "RVGK" rule
which, even if the German player does not "follow history", can allow the
Soviet player to deploy their reserves over large distances quickly as
compensation. Hexes are about 45 miles and game-turns about one month.
Three
scenarios are included: the first is a Campaign game starting in June 1942,
the second begins around Nov/Dec 1942 and the third starts around Jul/Aug
1943. Low to medium complexity.
Game
components include : Mapsheet, 200 Counters (no blanks) and Rules.
