A
"what-if?" game of the hypothetical Allied invasion of Japan, 1945-1946.
The game assumes the U.S. atomic bomb trials were a failure, so none were
dropped on Japan, and decided to invade the home islands of Japan. The
Japanese are assumed to have decided to fight it out instead of surrendering.
The game is based on a strategic / operational-level. The U.S. player must
subdue the Japanese homeland at minimal cost using their tremendous firepower
and air & naval superiority. The Japanese player must inflict as many
casualties as possible using their tens of thousands of fanatic troops
to gain a favorably negotiated peace. Two scenarios and a campaign game
are included, with optional rules (weather, mass suicide & more) allowing
for variations. Low to medium complexity.
Game
components include : Mapsheet, 200 Counters (no blanks) and Rules.
Two
players. Ages 12 & up. XTR from 1990 --- Command Magazine # 3.
