It
was not unusual in the 1960s and 1970s to see some companies publish "multi-game"
packs ... multiple games in a single box. Starting with 20 or so games
in a single box, they slowly escalated in the number of games offered over
the years until they reached their zenith sometime in the late 1970s to
mid-1980s. All the games were Public Domain, so publishing this type of
game was inexpensive. Multi-game packs are still around today but not offering
anywhere near the number of games included in these earlier versions. Here
is a typical offering from Whitman / Western Publishing.
Game
components include for this version titled 71 Games : cardboard
Gameboard insert (for first 3 games), 4 two-sided cardboard Gameboards
(for games #4 through #62 --- ((Games #63 - #71 do not require gameboards
--- Magic Pad & other items used))), Spinner, Magic Slate Pad &
Stylus, supply of plastic markers, 2 Dice and Rules & Instructions
booklet.
