OBJECT
Solve as many puzzles as possible before the one minute timer runs out by saying them out loud until you "hear" the answer! The first team to earn 18 points WINS.

HOW TO PLAY THE GAME

1. The game is played in rounds. A round  is when both teams have had a chance to play one side of a different card. At the beginning of each round, make sure that all window slides are shut and that the closed-window side (front)  of the Card Holder is facing the team that will be playing. Each team sits opposite of the Game Card Holder. Team # 1 goes first.

2. Team # 2 selects one card from the deck and inserts it in the top of the Card Holder. Because they are seated on the open-window side (back)  of the Card Holder, the answers and category clues are visible to them. This team will act as timekeeper and judge for the playing team.

3. As Team # 2 starts the one minute timer, Team # 1 slides open the top window to reveal the puzzle behind it and is told the helpful category clue by Team # 2.

4. Players say the puzzle aloud, over and over, faster and faster, repeating the phrase, getting closer and closer, until they can give the correct answer.

Note: Sometimes, the playing team will be saying the words correctly, but will not realize that they've got the answer. The non-playing team judges whether, in fact, a puzzle has been correctly solved.

5. When a puzzle is solved, the window slide for that puzzle stays open. A player from Team # 1 slides open the next window, and Team # 2 gives the next clue. Keep in mind, there is only one minute to solve the puzzles. When all 6 puzzles have been solved, or the timer has run out, the first half of the round is over. If a puzzle is stilled not solved when the timer runs out, the window slide is closed.

6. Now add up the number of correct answers --- which is the number of windows open. Slide the horizontal score slide to record the number of puzzles solved. The opposing team must beat this amount to win the round.

Note: The horizontal score slide remains on the score that Team # 1 received, so Team # 2 knows what to beat.

Note: If a team gets all 6 answers, they are automatically awarded 2 BONUS POINTS. The horizontal score slide goes from 1 to 5 and then jumps to 8 (6 + 2 bonus) points.

7. It is now Team # 2's turn. Team # 1 closes all the windows and turns the Game Card Holder around so that the closed-window side is facing Team # 2. Team # 1 takes a new card from the draw pile and slides it into the holder, then play proceeds as in 3, 4 & 5 above. When Team # 2 has played their 6 puzzles, or time has run out, the round is over.

SCORING

1. At the end of each round, the lower score is subtracted from the higher score and the difference  is the number of points earned in that round by the higher scoring team. If both teams score the same, it is a tie and each team earns 2 points.

2. Team # 2 plays first in round two. Teams alternate starting in subsequent rounds. When a team reaches 10 points, they are no longer given the clues.

Note: The horizontal score slide starts on "0" for each new round.

PASSING

If a team gets stuck on a puzzle, they may PASS. Simply say "Pass", close the window  and go on to the next puzzle. If there is time left over after the sixth puzzle, they can go back, re-open the window, and try again to guess the correct answer.

ADVANCE PLAY

For an additional challenge, you may want to play the entire game without giving clues.
