A
Divisional-level, Operational-level sim of the German drive across the
Don towards Stalingrad and the Caucasus in the summer and fall of 1942.
Players are not as much concerned with the miniutiae of combat, nor the
broad strategic decisions, but concentrate on the disposition of forces,
the necessity of supply and its problems, and so on. Counters represent
Soviet, German, Rumanian, Hungarian and Italian armies. Hexes are about
10 miles and game-turns about a week. The German player has to deal with
"Hitler Directives" if they push to far and fast northward.
