A
series of Regimental / Battalion-level simulations of the battles which
occurred in the Ardennes area in WW2. Here, in 1940, the Germans overran
the unsuspecting French and, in 1944, launched a surprise attack on American
forces --- commonly known as the Battle of the Bulge. Each hex = 3.2 kilometers,
each game-turn = 12 hours and units range --- individual combat units between
1000-7000 men, armored units between 40-180 tanks or Panzers and artillery
units between 60-100 guns or rocket projectors.
Games
include: St. Vith (The Sixth Panzer Army Attack), Clervaux (Breakout of
the 5th Panzer Army), Celles (The Battle Before The Meuse) & Sedan,
1940 (Guderian Across The Meuse). They may be played separately or linked
to create the 1940 & 1944 campaign games. Each of the games was available
in separate Folio editions.
There
was also Variants available for the game in Strategy & Tactics Magazine
Special Edition # 3.
