A
sim of the British re-taking of the Falkland Islands in 1982 from the Argentine
forces which had occupied them since early April, 1982. The game does not
cover the entire Falklands War but concentrates on the amphibious landings
and land battles on part of the East Falklands Island where the capital,
only town, and most of the population were located. One player assumes
the role of British Major-General Jeremy Moore and the other Argentine
Brigadier-General Mario Benjamin Menendez.
Units
are battalions, companies and platoons of infantry, with individual or
groups of ships. Air support is created abstractly. Hexes are about 1.7
miles and game-turns are about 2 days. There are three scenarios, along
with optional rules for variations. Low to medium complexity.
