This
re-creates the first day's action between the Northern forces of the Army
of the Potomac and the Southern forces of the Army of Northern Virginia
during the Battle of Gettysburg. The intent was to give either a solitaire
player or two players a game which could basically be finished in one sitting,
so it uses an operational-level aspect which includes tactical-level aspects.
The smallest unit is a brigade and demoralization is at the Division or
Corps levels. Each hex is about 200 yards and each game turn about one
hour. Time begins at 7am and game turns may last up to 14 turns, but certain
victory conditions may allow one or the other player to end the game earlier.
Medium complexity.
Game
components include : Mapsheet, 160 Counters (includes 12 blanks) and Rules.
Two
players or solitaire. Ages 12 & up. 3W / World Wide Wargames from 1983
--- Wargamer Magazine # 25.
