A
game re-creating the Battle of Lutzon fought on 2 May 1813. This was the
first major clash of Napoleon's 1813 campaign in Germany. The Allied army
consisted of Russian and Prussian troops headed by an assortment of monarchs
& generals, each of whom thought they had the best plan of action.
Napoleon was headed for Leipzig when attacked on his flank by the Allied
army in a simple meeting engagement which gradually grew in size to become
a major battle. Each player takes the role of one of the two sides. Each
hex is about 1/2 mile, each game-turn is about 30 minutes of real time,
and each unit generally represents brigade-size and smaller or a Leader
and their entourage.
Three
basic scenarios are included: two "historical" and an "early start" scenario.
There are a number of optional rules to make for a great many variations.
In a later edition of the Wargamer Magazine there was
a fourth scenario provided (see Fourth Scenario under ADDITIONAL INFO).
Low to medium complexity.
Game
components include : Mapsheet, 200 Counters and Rules.
